The deadline first
The deadline to challenge is short and runs from the day you received the order, not from the day you started feeling wronged.
That is why this conversation should not wait. An otherwise winnable case is most often lost not because there was no ground, but because the deadline passed while the person was deciding whether it was worth it.
If you are not sure exactly when you received the order, that is itself a question worth checking. Call and we will establish it.
What gets checked
The ground. What ground was given for your dismissal, and whether it matches what actually happened. A redundancy that is not a real redundancy. A disciplinary dismissal for something that is not a breach.
The procedure. A dismissal is not only a decision, it is also a sequence. Whether that sequence was followed, whether the order was served properly, and whether you were given the chance to explain yourself where the law requires it.
Protected categories. There are categories of employee whose dismissal requires prior permission. If you fall into one and no permission was sought, that matters regardless of the ground.
What can be claimed
Setting the dismissal aside, reinstatement to your previous role, compensation for the period without work, and correction of the stated ground in your employment record where it is getting in the way of finding a new job.
Not every case ends in going back, and not everyone wants to. Sometimes the aim is compensation and a clean record rather than returning to the same employer. That is your choice, not mine.
If you worked without a contract, or on part of your pay on paper
That makes proof harder, not impossible. There are other traces: bank transfers, correspondence, access records, rotas, witnesses.
Do not hesitate to say so. I am not here to judge you.
If you are abroad
You do not need to be in Bulgaria for the whole process. It is handled through a power of attorney, and the consultation can be held by video call.
What I will need
The dismissal order, and the envelope or receipt if you have it, because those show the date. The employment contract and any annexes. Your recent payslips. Any correspondence with the employer.
If you only have the order, come with that. If you do not even have that, call anyway.
